Python Italia APS, the Python Italia Society, will provide the on-site team for EuroPython 2017.

These are the dates for the milestones (the bold ones are fixed, the other ones are still flexible):

  • 2016-10-29: Launch landing website for 2017 (planned: 2016-11-01)
  • 2016-11-30: Finalize EuroPython 2016 conference finances (TBD)
  • 2016-12-01: Finalize ep2017 website code refactoring
  • 2017-03-20: Launch main website (planned: 2017-01-14)
  • 2017-03-27: Send out CfP for everything: talks, posters, trainings (planned: 2017-01-18)
  • 2017-04-04: Start early bird ticket sales (until sold out, then switch to regular prices); stopped on the same day
  • 2017-04-07: Start standard ticket sales
  • 2017-04-10: Start finaid program
  • 2017-04-23: Last CfP submission day (incl. extension by one week)
  • 2017-04-24: Deadline for finaid applications
  • 2017-05-01: Start talk voting
  • 2017-05-07: End talk voting
  • 2017-05-17: Announce session list
  • 2017-05-24: Deadline for conference brochure content (ads, talk descriptions, etc.) (planned: 2017-05-22)
  • 2017-05-30: Announce schedule
  • 2017-06-08: Last day for ticket refund requests
  • 2017-06-09: End of regular price ticket sales, switch to on-site ticket rates
  • 2017-07-09: Beginner's day + Django Girls
  • 2017-07-09: Main conference setup
  • 2017-07-10: Start of main conference
  • 2017-07-14: Close of main conference and take down of booths (afternoon)
  • 2017-07-15: Sprints day 1
  • 2017-07-16: Sprints day 2
  • 2017-07-23: Last day for speaker discount refund requests

Improvements for 2017

  • Don't have a conference booklet, but instead just a leaflet which covers the schedule, the most important conference details and the sponsor logos

    MAL: Given the Bynder case in 2016 where we forgot to add the ad and then had to refund them part of the sponsor fee, I believe we should continue to have the booklet.
